This Level 3 workshop reviews the Kodály-based approach to music education for Grades 4 and 5, focusing on teaching techniques, spiral curriculum design, and lesson planning supported by age-appropriate song literature, singing games, and dances. Participants strengthen musicianship using movable do solfège and rhythm syllables, with study of diatonic scales with chromatic pitches, modulations, changing meter, sight-singing, score reading, dictation, analysis, and basic piano skills. The course also introduces score study and effective conducting techniques appropriate for upper elementary choral repertoire.
