This Level 2 workshop reviews the Kodály-based approach to music education for Grades 2 and 3, focusing on teaching techniques, spiral curriculum design, and lesson planning. Participants develop musicianship using movable do solfège and rhythm syllables, with study of extended pentatonic and diatonic scales, modes, sight-singing, and score reading. Basic choral conducting techniques for children’s literature are introduced, and participation in a large performance ensemble is required.
